Rustic Blue, White, and Brass Fall Mantel

Blue and white may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Fall decor, but hear me out...

For this Fall season, I decided to challenge myself to try to use some of the pieces from my Summer mantel (which I did not post but you'll have to trust me, it was blue and white and pretty.)

In addition to sharing my Fall mantel, I am also so happy to be joining The Celebrate Fall Home Tours with 23 of my blogging friends sharing spaces in their homes decorated for Fall. Leen of Sanddollar Lane is the host.

Every day this week you’ll find so much Fall decorating inspiration! Since I'm sharing on day 4, I hope you will get a chance to visit everyone's post. They're linked at the end of this article.

If you are here from At High and Lane, welcome! I know you enjoyed Wendy's Fall kitchen and breakfast nook!

So for this year's Fall mantel, I was inspired to reuse my Summer blue and white theme when I saw a couple of little blue and white buffalo check fabric pumpkins at Dollar Tree recently. They seemed like they could be the bridge of blue and white from Summer into Fall.

I found a set of similar blue and white buffalo plaid pumpkins here.

The mantel already held a pair of vintage brass Turkish lamps that I bought at a yard sale recently. The sweet lady told me how years ago she and her husband had brought them home from a trip to Turkey on their laps on the airplane. I don't think we'd be allowed to do that now! And with that history, I don't know why she was willing to give them up at a yard sale all these years later, but for my sake I'm glad she did!

One of the lamps got a stack of white pumpkins inside. I've had these little faux white pumpkins for a while now, and they make a little showing somewhere every Fall. I like investing a little bit of money into seasonal decor items that can last a few years.

This time I just temporarily popped their little stems out so they will stack nicely.

Beside the brass lanterns are the main blue and white pieces I've kept on my mantel. They are also yard sale finds, but I found a bunch of beautiful similar ones on Etsy and Amazon.

The antique mirror in the back is also usually on my mantel. It was feeling a little flat this time, so I added this small tobacco basket as another layer.

Then I collected a few leftover grapevines from our big scuppernong vine. I love finding a few leftover grapes on the vine.

These grapes and the leaves will dry over the next few weeks into deep golds and browns.

I found the antique brass fireplace bumper a few months ago at one of my favorite thrift stores. I couldn't believe it fit perfectly around the screen!

And since it will be a while until we are actually using the fireplace (it's currently 89 degrees outside), it's a good spot for an asparagus fern in a big blue and white bowl.

So after repurposing the items I already had and foraging for the vines, I ended up only buying the two little blue and white buffalo check pumpkins for this Fall mantel!

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit my rustic blue, white and brass Fall mantel!

Dara I just love the story of the lamps! I can't believe she would give them up either. I love how you filled them with pumpkins. I also love the blue and white. That seems to be a theme this year! Thanks so much for sharing!

The blue and white looks great with all the warmth you already have on your mantel. Something a little different and I am partial to anything blue.

Dara, your fall mantel is just gorgeous with the gingham pumpkins teaming up with the blue and white jars. I love the natural look of the grapevines too, which reminds me I need to do some local foraging for some of those. Happy fall!
