Welcome!  I for one could not be happier that Fall is here!  After one of the hottest Summers I can remember and cooler weather will be such a welcome change.

I love the combination of purple and yellow for Fall.  At the end of Summer, when plants are starting to fade, I usually try to add yellow flowers like the zinnias.  That way I can continue to use them through Fall.  Purple mums are my favorite!  Our door mat was falling apart, so I found this pretty and vibrant one. I love the pop of color. You can find it here.

I found a good use for those $1.99 cheese boxes I found at Goodwill recently.  And that antique wooden bucket is the perfect container to pop a plant in.

My favorite elements to decorate with are from nature.  We live in a very rural area and the country roads I travel every day are lined with flowers and grasses that many might consider weeds, but are actually beautiful additions to decor. I always keep an eye out for possibilities when I'm driving around. This week I gathered these beauties. I might have gotten a few sideways glances from passersby at the lady standing next to the road in boots with scissors in hand!

Decorating for Fall with wild gathered grasses

My big table on the front porch got a little dressing up, as well as the chandelier.  I kept it fairly simple, with a burlap runner as a base and then adding grapevines from our yard.

I added a few white mini pumpkins and squash as well as a few pinecones.

Antique oil lamps added in some shiny prettiness.  And they catch the evening sunlight beautifully.

One of my trusty oak slices from a tree we lost last year in a storm always seems to find its way to this table.  This time it has a big flat white pumpkin on it.  My kids weren't quite sure this thing was actually a pumpkin though.

I tucked some gathered sumac branches into the chandelier.  Their burgundy berry clusters are so striking.

The seating side of the porch got a simple bunch of goldenrod in a crock and a bowl of green cypress balls with candles.

Now to the dining room, where just a few things changed.

I added some cute mini squash in with my milk glass collection. I love their shapes and colors against the white glass.

Last year I bought Indian corn to use in my decor and after I was done with it I saved it to see if it would last until this year. The corn itself is still in perfect condition.  Some of the husks that still had rubber bands on them did not fare well and got a little moldy.  Since some of my corn is now husk-less, I put them in a crock to make a corn bouquet.

I've been adding more copper in the kitchen lately. I love the warm glow it gives off.

I used a copper pitcher for some of my roadside grasses on the table.

And more of the cypress balls from our trees went into an apothecary jar with some copper acorns from last year's Target dollar spot.  More little white pumpkins on a copper tray and an antique pestle complete my simple centerpiece.

And that's about it for my Fall decor!  Now head over to see what my creative fellow bloggers in the group have done!

Do you have room for one more? Ok, 5 more people- I would feel guilty leaving my family behind while I moved into your amazing home!!!! You have outdone yourself. I died at the chandy, let alone the entire tablescape... the lanterns got me. My momma is an avid collector of those beautiful charms, they are the most amazing accent on your table!! Everything is just perfection, I am so walking with scissors in hand tomorrow!!
