Fall Front Porch | Fall Festival Blog Hop

Hey! I haven't been doing much work with our renovations lately because "our" current project is adding shelves attached to the walls in the basement, which my husband is handling.  In the meantime I have been researching to design and plan our next few renovations (kitchen, yay!!!!) but also I've been having fun adding little bits of Fall to the cabin.

Now the kids are on break from school so we are doing it together, which is even more fun!  Yesterday we gathered wild grasses and flowers from our country road.  I love foraging and gathering from nature to use in my decor.

I used a mix of all kinds of vessels I have around the house to display those grasses and flowers.

As I've said in my previous Fall posts, I always try to use what I have on hand to decorate, but each season I find a piece or two to add to our home.  Recently I found this tasseled plaid throw at Home Goods.  It was so reasonably priced and pretty, I couldn't resist. That little stool, a vintage find from an estate sale, is the perfect Fall accent piece because of its colors.

There's a seating area over on the other side of the porch. One thing I looooove every Fall is mums.  Especially in purple.  This year my goal is to make these babies last as long as possible and fertilize them to see how big I can get them!

I used an antique crocks to hold this lavender mum on the wicker coffee table, and darker purple mum by the door. For a little layering, I put the crock on a tobacco basket and added some big pine cones from our yard.

A vintage vegetable crate holds these two on the other side of the door. Because our Fall has been so warm, the ferns are still going strong, so I figured why not leave them!
