I mentioned in my last post that the other two tub/shower combo units we have taken apart gave us some big surprises. This one did too.

Because of our previous experience, we knew we had to be super careful with the demolition. There were lots of wires draped over and behind the unit.

I peaked through the hole left from removing the fan/light combo with a flashlight to make sure Mike didn't cut through any wires with the sawsall. Thankfully we missed them all.

Look at all of those wires!

This old Mountain Dew bottle was a fun surprise!

Let me just say... renovations are much easier with strong teenage boys who can do the heavy lifting and the work low to the floor!

These cabinets were so well built and also seemed to be built in place. We couldn't get them all out in one piece. So piece by piece, it all came out.

So we have the bathroom demolished. We discovered the shower area is not square, so it is going to require some shimming and blocking.

We had kinda thought we might be able to keep the floor, but it became apparent we can't.

We are excited to start the rebuilding!

I'll be updating on our progress each week for this eight week challenge! As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out my projects!
